Partners’ Meeting/Dialogue
The
Karachi Water Partnership (KWP) held its annual Partner’s
Meeting on
26th April 2009
supported by GWP. KWP has made tremendous strides over the last
year and successfully completed its first phase of Institutional
Development and
Partnership Building (January 2007 to December 2008). This dialogue
was held to commence the second phase of
Solutions of Integrated Water Resources Management (January 2009 to
January 2017) and to review KWP’s partnership model of
government, civil society and private sector working together,
chart its progress, share its plans and move forward
together.
The
meeting was attended by 181 partners from all sectors of society including of
Schools/Academia, Government, Private Sector Organizations, NGO
sector, Media, Individual Partners Women and Water Networks, KWP Advisory Council members and Hisaar Foundation Council and
Board members and staff. Since
all sectors of society were significantly represented, a holistic
and comprehensive review of the Karachi Water Partnership was made
possible.
Phase
two of KWP (January 2009 - December 2017), “Solutions
for Integrated Water Resources Management” was officially
launched and the structure of Steering Committee for phase two
finalized.

Session of Water Wastage Inspectors GIT

A
group of 19 water management inspectors has been formed in the
Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town .A collaborative
training session was
held on 14 May 2009, to help gel
both KWP and the newly formed group
to strengthen work on water conservation and advocacy .
