Training Workshop for
Women of
Karachi
held on

The
CapNet training was held at Indus Hall,
Avari
Towers
for the women of
Karachi
. Women are the primary users of water for domestic purposes, and
their input with regards to water conservation and training in
that respect is very important. The water issues of
Karachi
were highlighted for these women, and they were asked to form
groups and make short presentations on topics such as ‘water and
hygiene’ and ‘water and sanitation’ etc. They came up with
solutions that they saw fit for their water-related
predicaments.
Training Workshop for Media
28th November 2008
The
CapNet Media workshop was held on
November 28th 2008
, at Avari Towers Karachi. The workshop was aimed at familiarizing
the media sector with the concept of IWRM, understanding that they
have a role and responsibility in promoting water conservation and
IWRM, and thus ensuring their participation in creating public
awareness on water conservation. This workshop enabled print and
electronic media to write, develop radio and TV programmes using
the IWRM concept, when analyzing the city water problems and
promoting solutions.
